We were contracted to complete the design for a 3 bay 66kV and 21 bay 11kV Gas insulated substation along with 1 x 25MVA 66/11kV Transformer. The project also included design for a set of 11kV Capacitor banks & Reactors to manage the fault level and voltage regulation issues on the network.
Through our sister company Ohm Encon we completed all aspects of Civil design, Structural design, Main plant and Protection & Control design associated with the substation.
Finalising the cable routes for 66kV & 11kV cables so as not to impact the future circuits planned was a real challenge and we had to design the cable cellar along with internal cable tray details carefully to avoid any future derating issues. Also due to the existing ground conditions, we designed special pile foundations for the GIS / control building and external equipments.
The design works were completed successfully / within budget.
